  3. What’s involved • Verification • Check that reality and data agree • Creation of configuration management DB • Excel spreadsheet? • Own database • Special tools • Management of the database (CMDB)

  4. Results • You know what you are managing • Lists of HW, SW, People etc. • What’s involved in providing each service • Check list to determine impact of changes • Relations between components • Higher quality support of users • You know what he is using even if he doesn’t
