  2. October 9, 2014 1. Our source of our knowledge of Jesus begins in Scripture, in particular with the four Gospels. • Jesus’ earthly life reveals to us the hidden mystery of the life of the Triune God. b. All four Gospels focus on the mission and ministry of Jesus.

  3. October 9, 2014 1. Our source of our knowledge of Jesus begins in Scripture, in particular with the four Gospels. • The proclamation of the Kingdom of God is at the heart of His teaching. The Kingdom of God: i. Is Jesus’ presence among us. ii. His call to us for salvation from sin. iii. Our sharing in the divine life. iv. Is accessed through faith and baptism. v. Is shared in a life of communion with her members.

Arianism which denied the divinity of Christ. iii. Nestorianism, which denied the unity of Jesus Christ as God and man.

  10. October 9, 2014 For Discussion: • Why did God have to become man in order to save us? Why not just save us from heaven? • How do the Church’s teachings about Christ help us to have a right relationship with Him? What would happen to the quality of our relationship with Christ if it were built on an incorrect understanding of Who He is?
