  2. What We Know • Data from the HPOG Performance Reporting System (PRS) tells us about TANF recipients being served by HPOG programs: • Characteristics • Enrollment • Support Services • Outputs/Outcomes

What We Know (cont’d.) • 15% of HPOG enrollees receive TANF Characteristics • 94.7% female* • 58% never married, 15% divorced/separated, 10% married* • 38% one dependent child, 28% have 2, 15% have 3* • 34% White, 46% Black/African American, 17% Hispanic or Latino • Highest level of ed at intake: 13% HS graduate/ GED, 46% some college, 26% college graduate* • 68% not employed at intake* * Differs from participants who do not receive TANF

Support Service Receipt • 81% counseling services • 77% employment activity support services • 12% child/dependent care assistance* • 10% any social/family services • 40% transportation assistance • 48% uniforms/supplies/tools • 90% case manager/career advisor/navigator services • 48% tuition assistance • 91% tuition assistance came from HPOG

Outputs/Outcomes • 42% began remedial/pre-training activities • 54% successfully completed* • 79% began occupational/vocational training • 66% successfully completed* • 70% received degree/certificate* • 39% regulatory license/certificate • 35% became employed after intake • 25% became employed after intake in a healthcare career/by healthcare employer
