  2. Sourced from the “Sparking the Future” program from the State of Washington. • “Got Plans? Get College” in Osceola County -- is a college and career readiness program that has been designed to introduce students to college and career options and then help them prepare for their post-secondary plans. • Curriculum maps were created beginning in middle school to teach students about college & career awareness. K-5 lesson plans have recently been added for “Got Plans? Get College” • Helps supplement the “Reach for the Stars” program where now ALL students can receive services. College Preparation Lesson Plans

  3. Help students understand the importance of college • Explore a range of college & career options • Learn how to apply and be admitted to college: 2 year, 4 year, or Technical College Project Goals

  4. 20 lesson plans, grades 6-12 **(5 lesson plans, grades K-5) -- NEW • College prep timeline • Aligned with standards: • Common Core State Standards (Reading, Writing, Speaking & Listening, Language) • ASCA National Standards Project Resources

  5. Lesson plans are about 2 pages • Each lesson plan pretty much shows: • Learning goals • Alignment with standards • Materials needed • Activities • Student products • Additional resources • Eachlesson plan has same format Lesson Format

  12. 6 lessons focus on exploring options for the future • Topics include: • Why go to college? • Two-year and four-year colleges • Admission requirements vs. graduation requirements • Help students plan for high school success Grades 9-10
