  2. Patterson Field/BillPatterson Field/Bill Henry Track Henry Track • The Bill Henry Track is named in honor of William M. Henry '14. • The all-weather track, on the site of the original built in 1916, was constructed at Patterson Field under the auspices of the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee, with funds provided by the Atlantic Richfield Company. • Constructed 1983.

  3. Sycamore Glen • Sycamore Glen provides a quiet respite for the Occidental community. • With several picnic tables and a concrete staging area, the Glen is primarily used for social functions.

  4. Range view Hall • Range view Hall is Occidental’s newest residence hall. • Touting four stories and 274 beds, it is the largest hall on campus. •  The building features private bathrooms in each room, a fitness center, and classrooms, lounges and study halls scattered throughout the building, which is arranged around a series of internal courtyards. •  Range view also houses its own 235-space parking garage.

Majors • Economics : The scope of economics at Occidental is broadly defined: examination of the roles of consumer, business, and governments in a market system; investigation of problems such as unemployment, inflation, and growth; analysis of pressing social problems such as pollution, poverty, racial, and sexual discrimination; study of the international economy, trade systems, and the distribution of wealth between rich and poor countries. • East Asian Studies : East Asian Studies is part of the East Asian Languages and Cultures program. • Geology : Geology examines our natural world, studying problems that range in scale from a single mineral grain to the entire solar system.
