  1. Tone Tone is the feelings or atmosphere the author has planned to set in the story (or about a subject)

  2. Diction The words the author chooses to use. Write me a sentence that you would use with a friend. Now write the same sentence but pretend it was for a teacher or principal (or parent). See how the diction (hopefully) changed?

  3. Imagery Imagery just means that the author (or character) is using descriptive language to reveal how they think or feel about a scenario. This is when they use similes and metaphors. That paper was as easy as 1, 2, 3. That paper was H-E-Double Hockey Sticks (yes, I know, I’m a dork).

  5. I want you to write two paragraphs Choose a topic. Now you are going to write two paragraphs. Each paragraph should have a DIFFERENT Tone. Keep in mind, as you write, to consider your imagery, diction, etc
