3. Choosing the application form • NRIs should be aware of the fact that there are two types of application forms - Form 49A and Form 49AA. They must select Form 49AAwhich is valid for those individuals and entities residing outside India. The Form 49A is valid only for applicants who are Indian Citizens and Indian companies within India. • Filling and submitting the form • The Pan Application form for NRI has sections where relevant details such as name, address, signature and passport-sized photographs must be provided.
