2. Why I Chose My Images and Quotes BAD IMAGES AND QUOTES: Lady Gaga: I chose this image of Lady Gaga because she is obviously not setting a good example for teenagers. Though she is a ‘role model’ for young teens she is portraying the wrong message to them by the way she dresses and the inappropriate things she does and says. Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry: These images portray a bad influence on mainly girls. Miley is a celebrity young girls look up to and want to be like, but when she sings inappropriate songs for young children to listen to such as the song “Can’t be Tamed”. Katy poses almost naked in some of her songs and also produces lyrics that can be misleading and can influence girls into getting pregnant; like in the song “Teenage Dream”. Photo-shopped Man and OVERANALYZING Magazine : These images shows that people in images and magazines are not who they really are. With the technology today, you can change a person completely within a couple hours. People who then look at images like this want to be like them. They starve them selves, get plastic surgery and try for hours to be perfect, like the models, but will fail and ruin their lives in the end all because of photo shopping and touch-ups. Lindsey Lohan: This image shows that Lindsey is another celebrity showing a bad example. People, mainly teenagers, think that if its okay for celebrities to get drunk and high, then why can’t they? Good/Bad Quote: This quote, “If you can’t be a good example, be a good bad example” influences people to think that its okay to do bad things. I chose this because many people believe what they read, and by reading this, they will make bad decisions and choices. Madonna Quote- Bottom Right: Madonna is a very well-known celebrity, which is why I was surprised when I found a quote like this said by her. It is almost telling you that it’s okay to break the rules; and to get things done, you sometimes have to be a bad person.

3. GOOD IMAGES AND QUOTES: Dove Women: This image shows that every women is beautiful in thier own way. I chose this because it is really true, and you don't need to be photo shopped or have makeup on to look appealing. RealBeauty Magazine: I chose this magazine image because it talks about you can have beauty by portraying who you really are, not caring what others think of you. This magazine gives you support and guidance into self confidence of your feelings and body image and has images of true, un- photo shopped women. Taylor Swift: Taylor is a very young and inspiring artist to so many people over the world. I chose her to include in my positive side of images because she sings appropriately of real life stories she has been through and encourages people that no one is perfect and it is okay to make mistakes. Dove Young Girls: I chose this image because so many girls are becoming self-consious of their bodies and appearance today, that if more of these images are being portrayed, then girls can just be girls without worrying about how they look all the time. Girl with Writing: This image shows that girls think too much about the negative qualities they have, and not enough about the positive. I chose this because every individual should think they are beautiful and think more about their good qualities. Madonna Quote- Top Right: I chose this quote by Madonna because she is a celebrity who influences many people. She is giving inspiring and great advice by telling people to go for what you believe in. Secret Life: I put the image of the Secret Life of the American Teenager in the center because it can go both ways. This television show can make teenagers want to become pregnant because the show portrays it as being not a big deal. But at the same time, the show can make people not want to become pregnant at a young age because it can ruin you life and change who you are.
