Structure – Since Restructuring (completed 15 March 2010) • 5 Veterans Welfare Centres (VWCs) • Norcross (Blackpool) • Kentigern House (Glasgow) • TA Centre (Kidderminster) • Imjin Barracks (Innsworth) • Centurion (Gosport) • Each centre has • VWC Manager \ Regional Manager • Welfare Advisors providing back office support • Manned telephone support/contact • Welfare Managers, visiting officers based in the VWC satellite offices or home-workers.

Scope of the VWS Subject matter experts - in SPVA schemes & DWP benefits Caseworker Approach - assigned at transition or first contact - holistic assessment and continuity Supports - Veterans, their Families and the bereaved Provides - support, advice, referral, signposting On - entitlements, housing, education, reablement, employment and financial management

Joint Development of Single and Tri-Service Initiatives Death in Service Medical / Admin Discharges Seriously Injured Leavers Resettlement – Career Transition Partnership (CTP) Close working with In-Service Welfare providers to aid transition Army Recovery Capability - PRAC Tedworth House Tidworth. One stop Shop: H4H, RBL,SPVA Transition Pathway (Life Care Planning) Ghurkha resettlement programme Welfare Support to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham

VWS work collaboratively to achieve the best outcomes for individuals • The Veterans Welfare Service works in close collaboration with: • In-Service Welfare • Social Services • Local Authorities • Ex-Service Organisations • Voluntary Bodies • Health Authorities • Regional Veterans Advisory and Pensions Committees • OGD’s • Welfare Support Visitors • Anyone who will help!

  6. Community Welfare Development • Welfare gateway initiative • Mental Health Pilots (central coordination role) • Welfare surgeries • Working with devolved administrations in the development of veterans services • Prison in-reach • Employment fairs • Primary Care Trusts • Veterans Policy Unit
