  1. What is LPG and how is it used?

  2. Nature of LPG LPG is colourless in nature. Therefore a pungent gas called ethanethiol (also known as methyl mercaptan) is added to detect the gas leakage, which might otherwise go undetected. It is heavier than air and has a higher calorific value than other traditional fuel. Meaning that with less LPG, you can burn effectively compared to traditional fuels like oil, kerosene, petrol, etc.

  3. Once the gas is refined, it is converted to liquid and will be pressurized and stored in cylinders and tanks by the industrial gas distributors to meet the needs of the consumers. It is a fuel rich in energy and can readily burn to produce instant heat for cooking, heating and fueling the vehicle.

  4. How is it used? LPG has thousands of use across domestic, industrial and commercial sectors. From cooking food to heating home, fueling vehicle to generating power, metal cutting to recreational activities, anything you can name it. Regardless of the sectors where heat and energy are involved, LPG can deliver the best solution for the application.

  5. LPG for Cooking LPG is the most preferred for gas for many in the developed and developing countries. Especially, Dubai gas is widely used as a cooking fuel. It is economically viable, safe and the cleanest form of energy available.

  6. LPG for Heating The most common use of LPG in any industry is to create heat. For that reason, it is commonly used in home heating systems. Due to its stable high temperature, it can create clear cuts and reduce oxidising of metal. Thereby, widely use for heating, cutting, brazing and welding of metal.

  7. LPG for Power Generation Most of the gas companies in UAE deliver LPG to fuel generators and turbines. The most common application is CHP (combined heat and power technologies), where LPG is used as a power source.

  8. LPG for Transport When specifically used as a vehicle fuel, LPG is termed as ‘Autogas’. Autogas is the third most popular automotive fuel in the world and considered as a ‘green’ fuel since it emits less CO2 than Petrol. LP based forklift trucks are an excellent alternative to diesel trucks and offer excellent fuel economy.

  9. LPG for Leisure LPG is perfect for many recreational applications because of its portability and universal accessibility. Most caravans use LPG gas for heating and cooking. The same is applicable to camping, boating, and other recreational activities.

  10. Final Words.. LPG is a versatile, clean and portable solution used in residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial purpose. Dying, food processing, photochemical feedstock, aerosol propellant gas, and refrigerant are other applications of LPG. Whether you need a portable LPG bottled cylinder for your home or pipeline gas service for your industry, many gas distribution companies in Dubai are ready to serve you!
