Olig1 or Olig2 Changing sub-localization of Olig1 (N / nuclear  C / cytoplasmic) Other oligodendrocyte-lineage markers Oligodendrocyte lineage gene expression Brain tissue * During embryonic period, OL lineage markers were not expressed and could not be tested for their co-localization with olig transcription factors. ** in the 5 GW embryonic brain, both Olig1 and 2 were located exclusively in cell nuclei, however, in the fetal stages (15-24 GW), there was a redistribution of Olig1 from the nucleus to the cytoplasm of cells ((e.g. numerous immature progenitor cells in the subventricular zone (SVZ) in contrast Olig2 was only present in the nucleus). Olig2 mRNA present before plating , and during membrane formation; Olig1 detectable from process extension through membrane maintenance Cell culture
