  2. Objectives • In this course, we will discuss the “Top Ten” most frequently cited serious General Industry Standards for FY 2009. • The Top Ten list includes data about citations/violations issued from October 1, 2008, through September 30, 2009 in N.C.

Machine Guarding Number 1: General requirements for all machines One or more methods of machine guarding must be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as: Those created by point of operation Ingoing nip points Rotating parts Flying chips and sparks 1910.212 (a)(1)
