  2. Capital • The Capital of Afghanistan is Kabul.

  3. Food • Most famous foods in Afghanistan are kabuli, mantu, ashak and buloney. • Kabuli is made of rice, meat, raisins, carrots, salt, and black pepper. • Mantu is made of eggrolls wrapped around a mix of onions, beef, and yougurt. • Ashak is made of eggrolls wrapped are green onions, salt, black pepper, and yogurt. • Buloney is the same as ashak but a bigger version of it.

  4. Religion • Afghanistan is 100% muslim. • 80% are Sunni • 19% are Shia • 1% other • Sunni and Shia are two groups of people that have different beliefs.

  5. Clothing • Traditional afghan clothing is made in a very unique style. • Afghan clothing is worn for special occasions such as weddings. • Woman in Afghanistan wear burkas. • Burkas are worn to cover women’s faces. • Men wear turbans. • Turbas are hats men wear.

  8. Language • There are many languages. • Afghani 50% • Pashto 35% • Uzbek and Turkmen 11% • Other 4%

  9. Flag • The Afghan flag is black, red, and green.

  10. Exports • Some exports in Afghanistan are rugs, carcool (hats made of baby lamb skin)m silk, grapes, watermelon, ruby, sapphire, raisins, rice, etc.

  11. Imports • There are many imports in Afghanistan • Some imports are oil, cars, fabrics, medicind, shampoo, soap, clothes, etc.

  12. People • The population is 32,738,376 people. • The people in Aghanistan are very warm people. • They are friendly and caring. • The most important thing is that the people have very big hearts.

  13. Weather • The seasons are the same as America except a couple of things. • In Spring, it is very rainy. • In Winter, it is very cold and snowy

  14. Celebrations • They don’t celebrate American holidays. • They celebrate an afghani holiday called Eid. • There are two Eid holidays in a year. • The first Eid is called Eid Ramazon • The second one is called Eid Qurban. • They do celebrate New Year’s except they celebrate it on March 21.

  15. Wars • From 1977 until now. • First war was with Russia. • The second one was a Civil War with the Taliban. • This was has been on for 27 years and is still happening.

  16. What happened? • 80% demolished • 1 and a half million people died • 3 million injured • 5 million ran away • Many kids lost their parents and became orphans. • People lost their homes. • Many people are dieing of a lack of food and water. • The Taliban’s are putting bombs under people’s cars
