The Research • Dr. Edwin Ellis, 1992 • University of Kansas Institute for Research of Learning Disabilities • Developed for students with LD • Initial research group scored at a mean of 53% on a pretest and a mean of 77% after learning the strategy (p<.02) • Memory shown to increase as much as 30% when using a learning strategy

An Overview of the LINCS Strategy Step 1: List the parts: word and definition Step 2: Identify a Reminding Word that sounds like the vocabulary word Step 3: Note a LINCing Sentence that includes the reminding word and part of the definition Step 4: Create a LINCing Picture about the sentence Step 5: Self-test!
