  1. New Bern High School New Procedures Effective August 25, 2010

  2. Student Drop-Off and Pickup: • No students will be dropped off/picked up at the administrative entrance. • All students will be dropped off/picked up at the gym entrance.

  3. Absences: • Notes for absences must be turned in within 5 days of returning to schoolfrom your illness or emergency. • Waivers will only be considered at the end of the semester for those who turned in notes within the 5 day window. • Absence notes should be put in the appropriate boxes for (9th, 10th 11th or 12th) grades in the front office

  4. Cafeteria Clean Up: • Students will have from August 25th to September 10th to keep the cafeteria clean during each lunch. This means tables and floors. • If the cafeteria does not stay clean everyday: • beginning Monday, September 13th – each class will have a numbered seating chart with assigned student seating and NO BEAR PLAZA. Each student will then have an assigned cleanup day for their table. Failure to clean your table will be considered insubordination. Please, keep the cafeteria clean so you can be treated like young adults.

  5. Hall Passes: • Each teacher will have 3 color coded bathroom passes and 2 white administrative passes. • Procedure for Color Coded Bathroom Passes • Students will be required to sign out with teacher to go to bathroom. • Student will go to the nearest bathroom that matches the pass color. • Students will wear passes around the neck area for identification. • Students will be required to sign back into class and return pass to teacher.

  6. Hall Passes cont.d: • White Administrative Passes • White passes will be used when a student is called out of class (guidance, nurse, AP, etc.) using the sign-out procedure.

  7. General Discipline: Students are reminded that the other school discipline policies will be followed strictly beginning the first day of school.

  8. No Cell phones during school

  9. No Profanity

  10. Follow the Dress Code
