  4. Robert Brooke - 1763. • Robert Brooke published a book on dinosaurs and used a Linnaeus system name to name it. • He named it Carolus Linnaeus Report of Giant Bone

Sir Richard Owen, 1842, England. • Richard Owen was superintendent of the history department at the British museum and responsible for transfering specimens to the new Natural History museum. • Hylaesaurous lived 136 million years ago in the Cretaceous period. • Iguanodons were herbivores that are related to iguanas. • Iguanodon means "iguana tooth" in Greek. • Megalosaurus were carnivores that lived in the Jurassic period.   6. William Buckland 1824. • William Buckland described Megalosaurus, one of the first dinosaurs to be discovered. • He discovered the Megalosaurus fossil in a prehistoric Cave Hyena den. First Dinosaur Described Scientifically

William Parker Foulke, 1858, New Jersey. • He "discovered" the bones while on vacation in Haddonfield, New Jersey. • He named it Hadrosaurus Foulkii and it was the first bipedal dinosaur to be "discovered". • His find was the first full dinosaur skeleton to be discovered in North America First American Dinosaur Discovered
