    4. Our Schedule 8:40-9:15- Arrival/Warmup 9:15-10:15- Related Arts 10:15-11:30- Math 11:30-12:15- Content 12:15-12:45- Writing 12:45-1:00- Recess 1:00-1:30- Lunch 1:30- 3:15- Reading 3:15- Dismissal

    5. Attendance 1. All students must attend school every day unless the student is sick by Maryland Law. 2. Our school goal is a 96% attendance rate for the year. 3. All students who receive 96% attendance for a quarter receive an Exemplary Attendance Award. 4. Notes are required when a student is absent: first and last name of student the date the child is absent reason for absence parent/guardian signature 5. A phone call should be made to the office if your child is absent.

    6. Attendance Continued Doors open for students at 8:40a.m. Please do not send your child before 8:40a.m. as supervision is not provided until that time. 2. Students need to be at school and in their classrooms by 8:55a.m. in order to be considered on time and not tardy. If your child should arrive after 8:55a.m., please bring your child to the office and sign them in. 3. We ask that there not be any early dismissals after 3p.m.

    7. Breakfast Program at PLES Breakfast is offered to our students everyday. Participation in breakfast is completely voluntary. There is no charge for breakfast. Breakfast is offered from 8:40-8:55. Students should arrive in time to eat breakfast so that the instructional day can begin promptly at 9:00. There are 4 breakfast items offered each day (milk, juice, cereal, muffin). Students may select 3 or 4 of the offered breakfast items.

    8. Positive Behavioral Intervention Supports PBIS Respect self Respect others Respect property PBIS focuses on acknowledging students for consistent positive behaviors. Staff and students build positive relationships. Routines and language with respect to appropriate school behaviors are consistent through out the school. Students are rewarded with Fabulous Falcons and special activities for appropriate behaviors.

    9. STEPS FOR SOARING TO SUCCESS STEP 1: GREEN GOAL LEVEL Everyone start here when you follow the PLES wide-expectations. 1. Student receives a verbal warning. 2. If needed, the student takes a short break. STEP 2: YELLOW REFLECTIONS LEVEL a. Student receives a 5 minute timeout in the classroom to complete a Reflection Form. b. Teacher confers with student regarding desired behaviors to ensure a successful remainder of the day. STEP 3: ORANGE SUPPORT TEACHER/PHONE CALL a. Student receives a 7 minute timeout with a teacher within the team area. b. A phone is made to the parent/guardian. c. The student is welcomed back to the classroom. STEP 4 RED OFFICE a. Teacher and administrator complete an Office Referral.
