Investigating Neopterin Formation in Response to GTPCH1/GFRP with Varying BH4 and H2O2 Levels

This study explores the formation of neopterin measured in nmol/hour/mg of protein under different concentrations of 5mM 6BH4 and varying levels of H2O2 (0.0, 0.2, 0.5, and 1.0 mM). We examine the roles of GTP cyclohydrolase I (GTPCH1) and its regulatory protein (GFRP) in neopterin synthesis, providing insights into the biochemical pathways involved. The results are crucial for understanding the implications for immune response and the potential therapeutic targets in inflammatory diseases.
