  7. when villages grow up along the Nile river.

  8. By around 3100 BC, this villages formed

  9. two separate Kingdoms: Lower and Upper Egypt

  10. The two kings fought a battle

  11. which was won by King Menes of Upper Egypt

  12. Since this day, as symbol of power

  13. he wore the Double Crown

  14. Menes unified the kingdoms becoming the first

  15. Egyptian Pharaoh

  16. Menes built his capital in Memphis

  17. near the actual city of Cairo

  18. He ruled Egypt for more that 60 years.

  19. After his death 150 pharaohs of more than 30 Dynasties

  20. continued to rule the Egyptian Civilization
