  3. Who is Cheops and who were his family? • King Cheops's real name in Khufu but he was know to the Greeks as Cheops. • He ruled Egypt in the 4th dynasty (2551 BC- 2528 BC) • He was the second pharaoh of that period of time • Cheops ruled for around 23 years • Cheops was very wealthy

  4. Who is Cheops and who were his family? • King Sneferu was king Khufu’s father • Queen Hetepheres I was his mother • Cheops had 9 sons and 15 daughters • He was married to queen Meritites and queen Henutsen

  5. What is Khufu’s full name? • Khufu’s full name was Khnum and that means “the god Khnum protects me.” • Khnum was the local god of elephantine an island on the Nile.

  6. What is the propose of Khufu’s pyramid? • A tomb for Khufu and his family • To guard Khufu’s treasure and gold

  7. When was Khufu born and when did he die? • He was born at around 2589 BC • He died at 2566 BC

  8. When did Khufu rule Egypt? • He ruled Egypt in the 4th dynasty which was at 2551-2528BC • He was the second pharaoh that ruled at his time • He ruled for around 23 years.

  9. Where Is Khufu’s Pyramid? • The pyramid Khufu is located in Giza • It is 756 feet long on each side • It is 450 feet high • No side is different 8 inch from the other • Still standing today

  11. Why did Khufu build a pyramid? • The great pyramids were not built by salves but by free workers as they believed. • The people that built the pyramids were at very high status their tombs are next to the king’s.

  12. How where the pyramids built? • The people would put a big brick of stone was put on the ramp and dragged • It had to contain a burial chamber • Top of the pyramid was a pattern roughly the size of a football field • The work was exhausting • Khufu himself would see his Construction.

  13. How did Khufu die? • Khufu died before hi father did • It was thought that ‘Kawab was the victim foul play’ • Kawab was probably ordered to kill Khufu by his brother Djedefre. • There is no real evidence of this scenario.
