  2. who was muhammad ali Muhammad Ali was one of the biggest heavyweight champion in the world. Although he was a heavyweight champion, Ali was banned from fighting in many states. Joe Frazier was crowned the new world heavyweight champion, even though he had never fought Ali to win the title. Ali wanted justice, peace, and equal rights’ Muhammad Ali was a symbol of pride for black people. In 1965, Ali joined the nation of Islam.

  3. childhood • When Muhammad was younger he loved and enjoyed biking, until one day his bike was stolen. Ali was so furious that he wanted to beat up whoever had taken his bike, instead he complained to Joe Martin also worked at a boxing arena, Joe asked Ali if he knew how to fight, and Ali answered, no. Joe Frazier decided to train Ali to become a heavyweight champion.

  4. education • Muhammad graduated from Louisville central high school at 16 years old. Joe martin decided Ali should join the Olympics team at age 18.Muhammad won the heavyweight title with ease. Muhammad Ali was a charmer at the Olympics, Ali beat a Polish boxer to win the gold medal.

  5. Dealing with discrimination • Muhammad Ali was aware that he did not share the same privileges as white children in his hometown. Some blacks were ashamed of there color but Muhammad Ali wasn’t he didn’t care about his color he just wanted justice and peace.

  6. family • Muhammad Ali got divorced four times overall he has nine kids, seven girls and 2 boys. Ali loved his family but he didn’t have time to spend as much time with his family since he was so focused in boxing every day. Although, his family loved him, he wasn’t making the best dissections.

  7. inspirations • Muhammad Ali was inspired by Joe Martin, Martin Luther King Jr., and his family. Joe Martin trained Muhammad every day to become a success. Martin Luther King Jr. helped him fight against racism. His family gave him courage to fight as a heavyweight champion.

  8. boxing career • Overall Muhammad Ali has fought more than 100 bouts and only lost 8 matches. He had won six golden gloves tournaments and two national championships. A year after his last fight Ali was showing early symptoms of Parkinson disease, an illness that reduces a vital chemical called dopamine in the brain. Like many people with the disease, Ali began to suffer from trembling hands, body stiffness, and slowed speech. His face began to lose its expression. There is no cure Parkinson ‘s, although drugs help to reduce its effects.

Stripped of his boxing license and heavyweight title in 1967 refusing on religious grounds to be drafted into the U.S. Army, he was eventually reinstated

  11. boxing legacy • Muhammad Ali is an American former heavyweight champion boxer and one of the greatest sporting figures of the 20th century. An Olympic gold medalist and the first fighter to capture the heavyweight title 3 times.
