  5. new born Yorkies At 3 weeks, the pups are becoming more active and able to walk around. Eyes are open by now. Usually by week 3,  they have developed their sense of smell, and will start to understand where to go.   A pup this age is much too young to bring outside. Pups should start gaining right away - 2 to 20 grams the first day is expected.  Keep an eye out for puppies who's weight goes down. Pups should double their birth weight when they are about 10 days old. www.yorkieinfo.com

  7. Yorkies COUNTRY OF ORIGIN:England SPECIAL SKILLS: on Histcally a rat-catcher but nowadays usually a family pet. COAT: This breed has very long, silk-like hair, body steel grey and feet and heads are tan or gold. As puppies they are born black and tan or black and gold. Their coats are continually changing shades of color. I have found that the ones that are going to stay smaller seem to start getting their grey color faster. Colors that AKC recognizes are listed blue and gold or tan and black and gold or tan. www.Angel Baby Yorkies .com

  12. Bath time is fun Some yorkies like baths and some don’t (this dose)

  13. Play toys and exercise !!!!!!! EXERCISE:This breed adapts its exercise needs to the family circumstances. This little dog can readily be kept in an apartment. It's size accomodates small areas well. Exercise These are active little dogs, who need a daily walk.  Play will take care of a lot of their exercise needs, however, as with all breeds, it will not fulfill their primal instinct to walk. Dogs who do not get to go on daily walks are more likely to display behavior problems. If your Yorkie zooms around the house like a speeding bullet, it is a sign that he needs to go on more/longer walks where he is made to heel beside or behind the human. Remember, in a dogs mind, the leader leads the way. They will also enjoy a good romp in a safe open area off lead, such as a large fenced in yard.
