Mobilizing British Indian Community for Indian Development – AFP Initiatives

The Asian Foundation for Philanthropy (AFP), founded by Bala Thakrar, aims to inspire social change and help India achieve Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). While some goals are possible to achieve with changes, others are off track due to insufficient information. The AFP engages the UK Indian population to support grassroots development in India through its 3 E's model and programs like PAROPKAAR, DAAN, and JAGRUTI. By encouraging international volunteering and raising awareness, AFP paves the way for long-term change in India. The AFP's approach involves leading by example, ethical fashion, and knowledge journeys to tackle development challenges effectively. The way forward involves greater engagement from British Indian businesses, individual donors, and India Diaspora associations to drive meaningful results in India's future.
