  3. Introduction • Glimpses of Glory is a coffee table book showcasing India’s cultural legacy across the centuries.  • These moments were handpicked by the late AnantPai, the Founder Editor of AmarChitraKatha and illustrated by DilipKadam, the eminent painter and illustrator.

  4. Vision • As the country makes giant strides towards economic and social progress, it becomes even more imperative for us to remain rooted in our heritage. • An initiative to explain India’s legacy to the modern reader.

  5. About the book • Glimpses of Glory is a collection of 60 paintings marking significant points in the history of India. • The paintings serve to highlight our rich heritage in different fields – philosophy, religion, literature and the arts, the sciences and technology

  6. Cont.. • The paintings commemorate the contributions of people from many fields to modern India, from rulers and leaders (Harshavardhana, Akbar, Lakshmibai of Jhansi ) to surgeons (Sushruta), scientists (Aryabhata, Jagadish Chandra Bose) and writers and thinkers like Valmiki and Vivekananda.
