Both will die. • 2:15 • So I said to myself, “Since I will end up the same as the fool, what’s the value of all my wisdom? This is all so meaningless!” • 2:16For the wise and the foolish both die.   6. USA Way! 2:17 I came to hate all my hard work here on earth, for I must leave to others everything I have earned. And who can tell whether my successors will be wise or foolish? Yet they will control everything I have gained by my skill and hard work under the sun. How meaningless! Depression INCREASING Wrk Hard 4 a FOOL!  UNFAIR! ‘Despair’  Helpless 2 Chng. “Law..Diminishing Returns” = USA Way Rich SUICIDES So I gave up in despair, questioning the value of all my hard work in this world. Some people work wisely with knowledge and skill, then must leave the fruit of their efforts to someone who hasn’t worked for it. This, too, is meaningless, a great tragedy.

  7. USA Way! 2:22 So what do people get in this life for all their hard work and anxiety? 2:23Their days of labor are filled with pain and grief; even at night their minds cannot rest.   9. The GIFT 2:26a God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy to those who please him. v.26a JOY!! =Ultimate ‘Fun/Games’ ~Monkish, ~Aescetism GRAND JOYS Wedding/Births/etc. BUT: Given, ~Demanded! As a GOAL Chasing WIND As a GIFTCool, WORKS! CHOICE=Either/Or: Under..Sun ^ From God USA Way ^ G’s Way Enjoyed Thankfully, ~Lustfully ~ “I See..Want..Take!” USA: “Waaa, I Want My BOTTLE!” “Frm. God” 

MATURITY, ~Spoiled BRATS ~Rocket Science: Fun=POISON Sometimes ‘Knowl/Wisdm’ ~Same as ‘undr Sun’ 1 Corinthians 2:6-7 (NASB) Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are mature; a wisdom, however, not of this age nor of the rulers of this age, who are passing away; but we speak God's wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory; =WOG ?Ur Wisdom Doin?  REQ. DISCIPLINE (~fun)

  11. a PACKAGE 2:26B …to those who please him. But if a sinner becomes wealthy, God takes the wealth away and gives it to those who please him. This, too, is meaningless—like chasing the wind. v.26b • i.e., WE are the objects of God's Redemption • Even the greatest tragedies turned to our benefit. When we see life in these terms, we can have joy in life again Even pain & grief==NXT WEEK Fun=1) Received ~Demanded, ~Goal2) Thankfully, ~Lustfully 3) As part of God’s PACKAGE 4 Your Life
