Energy Conservation • From Last Week’s Lab: • For the following activities think of 3 means of conserving energy, considering that you have a client with cardiac and pulmonary difficulties: • Making vegetable soup • Planting a flower garden/vegetable garden • Washing, drying and styling their hair • Starting an independent fitness program • Getting groceries • Cleaning a bathroom Please explain your choices for each one and hand this in as your lab mark for this week.

  4. SOAP Notes • Documentation of treatment is extremely important • Why? • SOAP Notes are a particular format of recording information regarding treatment procedures. • S: Subjective • O: Objective • A: Assessment • P: Plan

  5. Subjective What the client says: problems from the client perspective Sometimes: your impressions of the client, based on what they said. Only include subjective information that is clinically significant Reason for client’s visit History of presenting information Client-reported symptom data Medications currently being taken

  6. Objective • Measurable and observable information YOU obtain during treatment session • Report behaviors that you observe, not just behaviors being targeted. • Physical symptoms • Gathered from: • Observation of client • Physical examination • Lab results • X-rays

  7. Assessment/Analysis Descriptive terms of where you assess client’s performance during session. Your interpretation of the subjective and objective results

  8. Plan Treatment objectives SMART Goals Outline the course of treatment
