  3. STaR stands for: • School Technology and Readiness • It is a tool for planning and self-assessing aligned with the Texas Long-Range Plan for Technology, 2006-2020. (“Texas STaR Chart,” 2010)

  5. Teaching & Learning • Three point total increase attributed to improvements in: • Classroom Use • Frequency/Design of Instructional Setting • Student Mastery of Technology Applications Key Trends

  6. Educator Preparation & Development • One point total increase only in: • Models of Professional Development • * In 2007, level of Access to Professional Development was Early Tech

  7. Leadership, Administration, & Instructional Support • Three point total increase attributed to improvements in: • Leadership and Vision, • Planning, • Communication and Collaboration, and • Budget

  8. Infrastructure for Technology • Three point total increase attributed to improvements in: • Internet Access Connectivity and Speed (Target Tech Classification), • Technical Support (2 point increase), • LAN/WAN, and • Distance Learning Capacity

  9. Strength: • Infrastructure for Technology (classified as Advanced Tech in 2006-07 and 2008-09) • Weaknesses: • Educator Preparation and Development • - especially in the focus areas of • Access to Professional Development (classified as Early Tech in 2007-08), and • Professional Development for Online Learning (Developing Tech for all three years) Campus Strengths and Weaknesses
