Synchstep • Synchstep Demonstration • Ipod and iphone app that: • First synchs with the music in your iTunes library and determines the beats per minute for each song • Then, during your run, the synchstep app connects with the motion sensors in your iphone/iPod to determine your pace, matching music to that pace • The faster your pace, the faster the beats per minute (bpm) are in the song that is played • As your pace changes, the songs that match that pace based on beats per minute change accordingly • Example seen in the YouTube clip

Incorporated into pe • Can be used during cardiovascular units in an effort to promote overall health as well as activities such as running or track and field • Promotes overall health bymaking an activity that is beneficial to your health more enjoyable/entertaining • We hope this would encourage students to pursue other activities that involve cardiovascular fitness • Students would have power over their playlist, ideally this will lead to more participation because they get a sense of control over their lesson • Negatives: • Ipod is priced around $150 • Each student would need an armband
