  1. CASE STUDY Ogilvy & Mother Taiwan, Exchange Building 3F & 4F CHALLENGE Oglivy & Mother Taiwan (Ogilvy) intended to relocated the existing office to the new premise at Exchange Building in Taipei. The new space is around 51,471 square feet and will ultimately accommodate around 350 numbers of staff and related facilities. Ogilvy expected to start the business operations the new office on Jan 1st 2011 but planning stage was not finalized even in early October. Therefore, Ogilvy engaged CB Richard Ellis Project Management to assist them in building the new office within a very tight schedule. SOLUTION During the project, CBRE and Ogilvy faced a challenge schedule that the project defined and the project has a very compressed timeline. CBRE project management team first help Ogilvy to define achievable project scheddule, anticipated project deliverables, and identify potential risks to Ogilvy management for their evaluation and consideration. Later on, after careful examination and planning, CBRE suggested Ogilvy to adopt fast tracking strategy (by parallel processing certain design and construction activities), and scheduled construction into one phases in order to deliver the project on schedule. RESULTS By using fast tracking strategy, CBRE project management team and Ogilvy optimized scheduling to meet the aggressive timeline. CBRE assist Ogilvy to hand over the new premises from BMO. B & B Contractor completed construction phase one to deliver a fully finished office area and workable data room. During the project, CBRE held regular meeting every week to advise the client on any issue about the project and to ensure the main contractor and vendors were implementing their works as scheduled. CBRE also kept the client informed of the budget status, creating a cost control process, monitoring each purchase and variation, and reporting the budget status to the client weekly.
