The eIRG mission, established in Rome on December 10, 2003, aims to define and promote a framework for sharing policy guidelines across National Grid initiatives and European-wide eInfrastructure projects. By contributing to international policy forums and providing input to drafting bodies like ESFRI and NREN, eIRG seeks to advance eScience applications and enhance governance in grid deployment. The mission includes national representatives and EU officials, coordinated by rotating presidencies, to ensure effective collaboration and knowledge sharing within the eInfrastructure community.
