  1. Raising the effectivity of e-learning systems with use of intelligent principles Igor Sivý, MariánBučko, LadislavMadarász Computational Cybernetics, 2008. ICCC 2008. IEEE International Conference on 27-29 Nov. 2008 Page(s):273 - 275 Professor Students :王鼎超 :林育弘

  2. OUTLINE • Introduction • Life-Cycle of IELS • Example work • Conclusion

  3. INTRODUCTION • E-learning systems are powerful way for education • Important term in education is quality of this education • E-learning system must also have tools for bringing educational information in simplest way or support learners study

  4. INTRODUCTION • Main problem of e-learning systems • generalisation of learners • all students can take only the same teaching material

  5. INTRODUCTION • Solving for this problem could be Intelligent e-learning systems (IELS) • IELS is attempt for substitution of the teacher • But IELS not possible to make absolute substitution for the teacher • Scientific conferences still brings important conclusions in IELS • It’s can help build interesting systems

  6. LIFE-CYCLE OF IELS • Lifecycle of IELS consist from these steps: • Analysis of situation • Design of system • Programming, implementation and testing

  7. LIFE-CYCLE OF IELS • Analysis of situation • First question of analysis is determining that if there was an existing e-learning system • possible to update old system, or create new one • Second step could be analysis of studying material • very important part of analysis, because after that is possible to choose best intelligence support for that system

  8. LIFE-CYCLE OF IELS • Design of system • IELS is big, modular system and architecture figure basic communications between each module Data repository Admin environment Lector environment Course developer env. LMS tools Virtual class Student environment

  9. EXAMPLE WORK • Provided on existing e-learning system named eEduser • First step was analysis of teaching materials • eEduser is general e-learning system, which can’t bring education in many areas • Then selected intelligent principle was Optimal Path • Next step would by storing new modules into this architecture, which help covers choose intelligent principle

  10. EXAMPLE WORK Admin environment Kernel of system Data repository Developer environment Creation of Courses / LMS tools Student model Lector environment Bind module Monitoring module Virtual class Student environment Adaptability module

  11. EXAMPLE WORK • New modules • Bind module • Developer can set binds between teaching materials • Adaptability module • control teaching materials server to learner • Monitoring module • monitors learner study • Student model • contains information about learners study

  12. CONCLUSION • system could be than named as Intelligent e-learning system • Main part of analysis is analysis of teaching materials and choosing the best supporting intelligent principle (technology) • Designing architecture of system and every new technology require rebuild of system
