  4. The Appropriate Use for Those Technologies • Avoid overuse of multimedia • Overloads students visual channel • Reduces comprehension • Omit redundant text • Allow for cognitive processing time

How the Integration of Audio With Text Enhances Learning • Collaborative audio tools • Audiobooand Audiopro • Allow for student feedback • Combines the use of numerous resources • Be aware of the redundancy principal! • Do not overload e-learners with the use of text AND audio • Except in special situations

How Effective Audio Might Be Used in the E-Learning Environment • Do not add superfluous audio • Make it relevant to the lesson • Audio helps personalize lessons • Tailored to the instructor and students • Audio allows for better understanding of presented concepts • Students become more engaged in the lesson • Audio can be especially helpful when working with English Language Learners
