Nightly. Warm-up: Write 5-8 sentences on the following topic. Extravagant: excessively expensive (adjective) Imagine you are a billionaire who is writing a will. List all the extravagant things you own, and explain who you will give them to in your will.

Essential Questions & Standards • What do I need to notice about the writing assessment prompt? • What type of brainstorming techniques do I need to think about before I begin my paper? • What do I need to include in my introduction? • What type of elaboration techniques do I need to use to develop my paragraphs? • How do I write an effective conclusion? CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.8.2d Use precise language and domain-specific vocabulary to inform about or explain the topic. CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.8.2 Write informative/explanatory texts to examine a topic and convey ideas, concepts, and information through the selection, organization, and analysis of relevant content. CCSS.ELA8W1: Write arguments to support claims with clear reasons and relevant evidence.

You just finished taking the writing assessment. Explain how you feel after completing this important test.

(Sentence Structures)
