  1. Hosted versus Non-Hosted Solutions Presented by: Mark Friederick

  2. Preface • Hardware/Software are considered old at 3 years and obsoleted in 5 years. This means a constant investment in new hardware and software by any company. The cost of new hardware and software can be mitigated by hosting, for some companies this is a great option.

  3. Hosted versus Non-Hosted

  4. Cost • Hosted - Davisware will charge a fee per month for hosting a customer’s software. This fee will is based on the number of users and the software. The will normally be a low upfront cost. • Non-Hosted – The Customer owns or leases the hardware and or software. This is a higher up front cost.

  5. Data Backup • Hosted - All customer data is completely backed up each day. Data is taken offsite at regular intervals as an added precaution. • Non-Hosted – The customer must backup their own data and take precautions for safe storage and monitoring of backups.

  6. Support • Hosted - Davisware provides emergency hardware/setup support outside the normal customer working hours. Davisware will do all maintenance after normal working hours for all customers. • Non-Hosted – The customer must request hardware/setup support as needed. Such things and server updates, cleanings and additional hardware such as storage space.

  7. Summary • Hosting your software will be an economical solution for companies with no IT staff. The hardware and software will be supported by Davisware. This will however be reliant on internet service and other factors. Having the hardware onsite will reduce the internet service reliance, but because allot of companies have multiple sites it may still be an issue.
