  2. NAVRATRA • Navratra is a hindufestival,which comes in september-octobermonth.It is a festival dedicated to worship of the hindu deity ‘DURGA’.The word navratri literary means nine nighs in sanskrit. During these days nine forms of shakti/devi are worshiped.

  3. SIGNIFICANCE • Navratri is celebrated five times a year.they are Vasantanavratri,Ashadhanavratri,Sharadnavratri and the paush/maghanavratri.of these shradnavratri of the month of purtashiand the vasnanavratriofvasnakalaare most important.the beginning of spring and autumn are considerdimporant junction of climatic and solaerinflunces. The dates are determined according to lunar calander.

  4. Food There are many foods of different variety are made in this festival. Some of them are- • Arbikikadhi • Chirojikidal • Pumpkin halwa • Khirekepakode • Singharaatta ka samosa

RAMZAN Coming with the new moon,the festival marksthe end of ramdan a monthwhenmuslimsfastthrought the dayand eat at only night prayers,feasts and family get together are major highlights of the celebrations.on this day Muslims can be seen wearing new clothes.,visiting mosques to attend id prayers.greetings of ‘eidmubark’ are exchanged.

More on Ramzan……… • A very important aspect of eid is the charity,which all muslims are expected to extendtoneedy.earlier this was in form of gifts but now in form of cash is given to needy.the first eid of this year is known as 'eid al fitr’ which literary means breaking the fast.thus it is celebrated on first day of RAMDAN.iramzan is a time for concentrated wowship,reading of Quran,puryifing one’s behaviorand doing virtiousdeeds.sewayin are made on this day……….

  7. …….It is a dy of joy and thanksgiving.on this day muslimsshowtheir joy for health,strength and oppourtunities of life,which Allah has given them.it is considerdunholyto fast on this day.they were nicest clothes.themuslims who can offered to do so,offer domestic animal usually sheeps,as a symbol of ibrahim’s sacrifice
