The CO amounts between 200 hPa (lower stratosphere) and 315 hPa (upper troposphere) are measures of pollution. The plot clearly shows the CO levels measured by the Aura MLS instrument declined over the period examined, indicating improved air quality during the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Acknowledgments: We thank Dr. Peter Leonard, Marghi Hopkins and Daniel Kahn at SSAI to provide not publicly available Aura L3G EOS data shown in the demo. We also thank Abe Taaheri at Raytheon; Denis Nadeau, James E. Johnson and Christopher Lynnes at NASA GES DISC to provide valuable suggestions on designing and implementing HDF5 OPeNDAP handler.
