  2. Compass Rose • What is a Compass Rose? • A circular diagram printed on a chart or map to show the direction of north and other main points of the compass.

Cardinal Directions • The Cardinal Directions are North, East, South and West. • Have you ever heard the saying Never Eat Soggy Waffles? • Mnemonic device, is any learning technique that aids information retention • Can you think of another mnemonic device for remembering the four Cardinal Directions.

  4. Intermediate Directions • The Intermediate Directions are Northeast, Southeast, Southwest and Northwest. • What High School in Springfield shares a name with an Intermediate Direction? • Can you come up with a Mnemonic Device for the Intermediate Directions?

  9. What are the two major imaginary lines the separate the earth into hemispheres? • The two major imaginary lines that separate the Earth are the Equator and the Prime Meridian.
