  2. Biography • Born in Woolsthorpe • Went to school in Woolsthorpe • He went to Cambridge University in 1661, he lectured there until 1696 • He published a book commonly known as the Principal in 1687 • In 1714 Newton became the most highly esteemed natural philosopher in Europe
