  2. A Little About the Author • William Sleator III • Author of 30 young adult books including Marco’s Millions • Born on Febuary 14, 1945 • Nationality, American • For more William Sleator Information click here

  3. *Introduction* • The introduction is a preliminary part, as of a book, a musical composition, or the like, leading up to the main part. • The introduction in Marco’sMillions is Marco and his little sister find a portal into another world, but the other world is slower than the one they are in.

  4. ~Rising Action~ • The rising action is the events of a dramatic or narrative plot proceeding the climax. • The rising action in Marco’s Millions is Marco has found out that he has to go into the slower world in order to save his and their world, but the only way he can do that is with the help of his mentally retarded older sister.

  5. Climax • The climax is the highest or most intense point in the development or resolution of something; culmination. • The climax is like the fire of the story because fire flares with something like an interesting glow. • The climax is Marco finally realizes that the closer he gets to the naked singularity the slower he gets and the more he declines getting home.

  6. Falling Action • The falling action is the part of a literacy plot that occurs after the climax has been reached and the conflict has been resolved. • The falling action is Marco has stolen the item that is needed to save both universes from total and utter destruction with the help of his older sister.

  7. Resolution • The resolution is the resulting state. • The resolution is also like the tying up of the end of the story. • The resolution is Marco has finally gotten home through the portal in the basement.

  8. Denouement • The denouement is the final resolutions of the plot, as of a drama or novel. • The denouement is Marco comes up the stairs to find his little sister all grown up and his older sister plus his parents all died in a car crash. The only thing left of his beloved older sister is her new born baby.
