    11. I would first like to begin by explaining a bit about Cummins Inc..: 1. From our roots in Columbus, Indiana, we are truly a global company. Unlike many other companies, Cummins brand value is based upon complementary businesses working synergistically with each other. We are more diversified in the markets and regions that we serve, which makes us less vulnerable to economic swings and business cycles. Through global adoption of Six Sigma processes, we are on our way to becoming the low-cost producer with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality products and services. We are positioned better than anyone else to become the first choice of our customers, building upon the work of Customer Support Excellence and caring more about our customers success than others. These are just a few of the machines that we help to power. I would first like to begin by explaining a bit about Cummins Inc..: 1. From our roots in Columbus, Indiana, we are truly a global company. 13. Diversity in Action KEY MESSAGE: EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT Our employee groups are a tremendous asset in helping us make Cummins a great place to work. Affinity Groups Organized around a specific under represented demographic. Represent that demographics viewpoint to the Company. Report to Global Diversity Department. Local Diversity Councils Organized around specific plants and business locations. Report to plant manager or business leader. Charged with identifying and addressing Diversity issues at a particular location. Community Involvement Teams -- We have a third set of employee groups called Community Involvement Teams, which carry out our value of Corporate Responsibility serving and improving the communities in which we live. CITs are supported and funded by the business units with additional support and Community Development Grants from our Corporate Responsibility Department. While the three groups have distinct differences, there is some overlap in their overall mission of making Cummins a great place to work.
