  2. Biography • Tedd was born in Elmira, NY, on January 20, 1949. • Tedd has 4 brothers. He is the one on the right. • When he was 10, he and his family moved to Florida.

  3. Becoming an Artist • Tedd took his first art lesson in an abandoned dentist’s office when he was a boy. • Later, he went to the University of Florida and graduated with a degree in fine art. • He married Carol, a kindergarten teacher. Tedd LOVED reading her piles of picture books from her classroom.

  4. Tedd’s First Book • Tedd and Carol had their first child, Walter and moved to New York City. • His first book, No Jumping on the Bed! was inspired by Walter’s bed jumping in their aging apartment building.

  5. Moving to Elmira, NY • After he successfully sold his first book, he and Carol had another child, William. • Tedd quit his day job to write and illustrate full time. • He moved his family back to Elmira, New York, where he was born.

  6. Tedd’s Books • Tedd has written over 50 books! • Some of his more popular tiltes are: • Green Wilma • Huggly • Parts, More Parts & Even More Parts • Fly Guy!

  7. Meeting Tedd • We are very lucky to be hosting Tedd Arnold on Thursday, April 19th! • Over the next few weeks we will enjoy many of his books and enjoy fun activities to welcome him to Hubbard School!
