  2. Outline • Introduction • Background • Objectives • Scope of the Project • Methodology • Functions of the Constructed Throttle • Results • Conclusion

  3. Introduction

  4. Introduction Flight Simulator • Device that artificially re-creates aircraft flight and various aspects of the flight environment

  5. Introduction

  6. Introduction

  7. Background

  8. Background Cockpit Hardware - Throttle • Main Function of Throttle • Control thrust of the engine one and two • Open flaps • Open Spoilers • Parking brake • Cut off the engines

  9. Objectives • Construction of Hardware • Understanding Hardware and Software • Study and Understand the systems of the Throttle

  10. Scope of the Project

  11. Methodology

  12. The Model of the Throttle • The drawings of different parts of the throttle are studied and redrawn if necessary

  13. Samples of drawing

  14. Components of the throttle • Components that are used to construct the throttle is prepared. • Preparing metal and acrylic pieces for assembly.

  15. Samples of prepared components

  16. Assemble the throttle • The prepared components are assembled together by functions. • All of the functions are then combined to make a completed throttle.

  17. Final Assembly

  18. Link to software • Switches: The switches are connected to the software via Master Card; the number of each switch is collected through a program. • Potentiometers and motors are connected through IOCards. • The programming codes are formatted to match with the switches’ numbers, potentiometer range, and motors.

  19. Testing • The throttle is tested by operating with Microsoft Flight Simulator.

  20. Function of the Constructed Throttle 5 main functions 1) Throttle handles 2) Flap lever 3) Speed Brake lever (Spoiler) 4) Parking brake 5) Cut off levers

  21. 1) Throttle handles Thrust Reverser Auto Throttle Disengaged TOGA

  22. 2) Flap lever

  23. 3) Speed brake lever (Spoiler)

  24. 4) Parking Break

  25. 5) Cut-off lever

  26. Result • After having finished the construction of the throttle and linked the throttle to the software, the throttle is working with Microsoft Flight Simulator, FS, accordingly.

  27. Thrust Reverser

  28. Flap 40 degrees

  29. Speed brake UP position

  30. Conclusion • The throttle is fully constructed, excluding the trim wheel, as expected. • The fully assembled throttle is then connected to software, operating by Microsoft Flight Simulator.
