  2. ¿QUÉ ES LA ONU? • ES UNA ORGANIZACIÓN QUE AGRUPA A LOS PAÍSES DEL MUNDO CON LA INTENCIÓN DE SOLUCIONAR LOS CONFLICTOS Y ARREGLAR LOS PROBLEMAS DEL MUNDO DE MANERA PACÍFICA

  3. OBJETIVOS DE LA ONU • Resolver los conflictos de manera pacífica. • Rechazar el uso de la fuerza como medio de solucionar los problema. • Defender la no injerencia en los asuntos internos de cada nación. • Defender el derecho de los pueblos a disponer de sí mismos libremente.

ALGUNOS DATOS SOBRE LA ONU • Quedó constituida en enero de 1946 con sede en Nueva York. • Los países promotores fueron los ganadores de la 2ª Guerra Mundial: Estados Unidos, la URSS, China y Gran Bretaña. A estos pronto se les unió Francia. • En las primeras reuniones se aprobó la llamada CARTA DE LAS NACIONES UNIDAS, en cuyos artículos se recogían los cauces para resolver los conflictos en el futuro.

ORGANISMOS QUE INTEGRAN LA ONU ORGANISMOS QUE INTEGRAN LA ONU ASAMBLEA GENERAL • Es una asamblea o especie de parlamen- to de los países componentes. • Su sede está en Nueva York. • Cada país tiene un embajador o representante en la Asamblea. • Se suelen reunir varias veces al año para discutir los principales problemas mundiales.

ORGANISMOS QUE INTEGRAN LA ONU CONSEJO DE SEGURIDAD • Tiene el control realmente de la ONU, es como su gobierno. • Su objetivo es tratar con urgencia las amenazas para la paz. • Puede tomar decisiones sobre intervenciones militares. • Puede establecer sanciones económicas a un país: bloqueo, embargo,etc.

  10. ORGANISMOS QUE INTEGRAN LA ONU SECRETARIO GENERAL Se llama Ban-Ki-Moon: • Es el máximo representante de la ONU • Es elegido por la Asamblea por un de cinco años renovable a diez. • Tiene poco poder de decisión

  11. OTROS ORGANISMOS QUE INTEGRAN LA ONU Existen otros organismos que integran la ONU. • El consejo Económico y social • El tribunal Internacional de Justicia • Otras organizaciones especializadas: FMI, OMS, Uniceff, ACNUR
