Seek medical attention if irritation develops Inhalation If exposure occurs leave exposure area immediately. If irritation persists, seek medical attention. Skin Gently flush affected areas with water. Ingestion For advice, contact a poisons information centre or a doctor. Due to product form and application, ingestion, is considered unlikely. Advice to doctor Treat symptomatically. First Aid facilities Eye wash facilities should be provided. 5.FIREFIGHTING MEASURES Flammability Not flammable. No fire or explosion hazard exists. Not expected to evolve hazardous decomposition products. Fire and Explosion Non flammable .No fire or explosion hazard exists. Extinguishing Non flammable Hazchem Code None Allocated 6.ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Spillage If spilt (bulk), wear dust-proof goggles, cotton/leather gloves, a class P2(partulate) respirator (where an inhalation risk exists) and coveralls or protective clothing. Moisten with water to prevent a dust hazard and place in sealable containers for disposal.

  3. Tel: +971 6 530 6010, Fax: +971 6 530 6063, P.O. Box: 50720-SHJ-UAE Office No. E-47G-16, Hamriya Free Zone, Sharjah - United Arab Emirates Email: info@qube.ae – www.qube.ae 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE Handing Use safe work practices to avoid eye or skin contact and inhalation. observe good personal hygiene. Wash hands before eating. Storage Store in cool, dry, well ventilated area, removed from acids (eg hydrofluoric acid) and foodstuffs. Ensure containers are adequately labeled, protected from physical damage and sealed when not in use. Bulk material should be stored in a manner that minimises dust generation. 8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION Ventilation Do not inhale dusts. use in well ventilated areas-open doors and windows. In poorly ventilated areas, mechanical extraction ventilation at source is recommended. Maintain dust levels below the recommended exposure standard. Exposure Silica, Amorphous –fume (69012-64-2) Standards ES-TWA:2mg/M3 silica fume (thermally generated) (respirable) CARBON (Not Available) ES-TWA: 10mg/m3(inspirable dust) Silica, Crystalline –Quartz(14808-60-7) ES-TWA:0.2mg/m3(silica Quartz, respirable, NOHSC) WES:0.2mg/m3 PPE Wear dust-proof goggles and a Class P2(particulate) Respirator, when using large quantities or Where heavy contamination is likely, wear leather or cotton gloves.

STABILITY AND REACTIVITY Reactivity Incompatible with hydrofluoric acid. Contact will produce toxic silicon tetrafluoride gas. Heating this product above 500C may result in the formation of crystalline silica (cristobalite / tridymtie), which can cause silicosis and is a known human carcinogen. Decomposition products Not expected to evolve hazardous decomposition products. 11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION Health Hazard Irritant, use safe work practices to avoid dust generation/inhalation and skin/eye contact. Summary Exposure to amorphous silica does not cause silicosis, however there is a risk of pulmonary fibrosis associated with the crystalline silica contaminant. Crystalline silica (Quartz) is classified as a known human carcinogen. Due to the low levels present, adverse health effects are only anticipated following long term exposure at concentrations exceeding the TWA. EyeIrritant exposure may result in, lacrimation, irritation, pain and redness. Inhalation Irritant dust generation may result in mucous membrane irritation of the upper respiratory tract with over exposure chronic exposure to crystalline silica may result in lung disease (silicosis). Crystalline silica is classified as carcinogenic to humans. Skin Irritant. Prolonged contact may result in irritation, itching and possible skin rash. Ingestion Irritating to gastrointestinal tract.
