  3. Presentation Overview Catholic University uses the PeopleSoft Enterprise Portal to deliver custom, third- party and PeopleSoft applications to the end user community. This presentation highlights our experience in delivering this service.

  5. Overview • Located in Washington, DC • Founded in 1887 • 6000 Students • 1500 Faculty and Staff • Undergrad, Grad and Doctoral programs • 12 Schools including Law School • Research – Tier II

Technology Environment • PeopleSoft systems • SA/HRMS v8.0 SP1, Financials v8.4, EPM v8.8 • Enterprise Portal v8.8 • Oracle and MS SQL Server databases • Dell and Sun Microsystems servers • Windows and Solaris operating systems • ASP, Cold Fusion, WebLogic and PeopleTools • Cisco Content Server Switches (CSS)

  7. Goals • One stop for all administrative systems • Minimize individual user accounts • Provide role based content • Centralized communication mechanism • Tie into campus central directory

  9. Key Considerations • Integrating a diverse set of products • Secure connections, data and access • Providing unique user authentication • Establishing specific methods for passing authentication tokens • Validating the source of authentication tokens • Making these methods reusable

  10. Application Connectivity • PeopleSoft • Single Sign-on connectivity between platforms • Validation of user in Enterprise Portal only • Successful for SA/HRMS, EPM, Financials • Non-PeopleSoft Products • Use iScript to provide an authentication token of EMPLID via hidden URL parameter
