  1. Revitalizing Charismatic Prayer Groups CRSBoston/HSIB April 2013

  2. Only Two Questions and One Request • What do you want of us, Lord? • How do you want us to do it? 3. Please lead us by your Spirit. Pg 2

  3. The Answer to Question 1 Evangelize! • Bring the baptism in the Spirit to everyone! Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Mt 28:19 • Bring everyone to the baptism in the Spirit! So go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.’ Mt. 22:9 Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full. Lk 4:23 Pg 3

  4. The Answer to Question 2 • Use the prayer meeting to evangelize • Bring them into the prayer meeting (banquet), • Feed them with my truth • Pray for me to baptize them in the Spirit (LISS and other methods) We have not even heard of the Spirit… When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied Acts 19:1-7 • Plant new prayer groups that will do the same See St. Paul’s first and second Journeys in Acts Pg 4

  5. Response to the Request I have Given you my Holy Spirit to guide you and the gifts of the Spirit as spiritual weapons in this battle."But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8 Pg 5

  6. Reasons Not to do it MANY: Not ready yet – need more time Too shy/embarrassed to evangelize Don’t know (the word well) enough Too old/young/tired to travel Used to the way things are Don’t want to put people off Too difficult ?? Pg 6

  7. Only One Reason to do it! It is the commission Christ gave us and he will hold us accountable for it! Excuses can seem valid The problem is… God doesn't accept them!none of those invited shall taste my banquet! [Lk 14:24] take away the one coin from this servant and give it to the one who earned ten coins... [Lk 19:24b] Pg 7

  8. Stand Up and Be Counted • You have received the commission - If you have been baptized in the Spirit and are part of a ‘charismatic’ prayer group • (Re)focus prayer meetings on evangelization. CRSB Office is preparing ways for prayer groups to refocus • Start new prayer groups CRSB is providing training Pg 8
