  3. REBUILDING SULLIVAN COUNTY • County’s Economic Development Strategy • Adopted by Legislature in October of 1997 • Main Street Redevelopment Center • Outlined as a Need in Eco Dev Strategy • Healthy Main Streets Go Hand-In-Hand With Economic Development

THE MSRC APPROACH • Program Administered by County Planning • Improve the Aesthetics of Main Street • Small Grants for Facade Renovations/Streetscape • Create Downtown Anchors • Funded Rivoli & Woodbourne Theater Renovations • Funded Delaware Valley Arts Alliance Bldg. • Build Local Main Street Organizations • Produce Main Street Seminars at Local Level • Build Consensus with Businesses and Elected Officials • Market Downtowns & Identify Niche Markets

  5. ELIGIBLE PROJECTS • Facade Renovations • Brick Work, Awnings, Windows, Etc. • New Signage • Public Sign Enhancement • Directional, Informational and Promotional • Infrastructure Improvements • Benches, Bike Racks, Pedestrian Lighting, Etc.

  6. INELIGIBLE PROJECTS • Projects Not on Designated Main Street • Vinyl or Aluminum Siding • Renovations that Destroy or Mask the Historic Architecture of a Building • Sidewalks • Paving of Parking Lots

RATING CRITERIA • Creation or Expansion of Business 0-20 • Aesthetic Impact on Main Street 0-10 • Architectural Assets of Building 0-10 • Historic Integrity of Building 0-10 • National/State Historic Register 0-10 • Other Building Improvements Made 0-10 • Lighted Window Displays Proposed 0-10 • Project Involves Collaboration 0-10
