This document provides a comprehensive methodology for mapping and joining clusters derived from co-citations in Library and Information Science papers published between 1945 and 2008. The file includes co-citation data that can be analyzed to create clusters and visualize connections using Pajek. Specific instructions are provided for generating the necessary files and utilizing various tools for analysis, ultimately assisting researchers in understanding the bibliometric distributions and relevance in the field. The analysis includes exploring co-citation data for first authors.

Mapping and joining clusters Library & Information Science papers 1945-2008
Here is a file with a list of co-citations made by Library & Information Science papers (download: http://www8.umu.se/inforsk/Bibexcel/lis4508cdew.min Now, run Analyze/Co-occurrence/Cluster pairs
Now select the same file again (lis4508cdew.min) Now, run Analyze/Co-occurrence/Join clusters
The pe5-file was created and contains all links used for making clusters and also links that join clusters Select pe5-file and run Mapping/Make net file for Pajek… Then select the pe2-file and run Mapping/Create clu-file
Open the net-file and the clu-file in Pajekand then use Net/Vector/Summing up values of lines/All to get node sizes. Then Draw/Draw-Partition-Vector
