  1. Transfer application form & where to apply? • Depositor has to submit SB -10 (b) and Pass Book either- • At Transferring office • At transferee office • At any other office • Note- Transfer of account is done by HO only.

  2. When transfer is not allowed? • After the death of the depositor.. • Silent account before revival. • When an account has been ordered to be closed(like 2 savings account in the name of one person in a PO).

  3. Types of Transfer Transfer of account is of three types. • Local Transfer (With in same HO) • Home Transfer (With in same Circle) • Foreign Transfer (From one Circle to another Circle) To Transfer out an account is known as PBT (Paid by Transfer) To Transfer in an account is known as RBT (Received by Transfer)

  4. Counter OperationSavings Bank Account Transfer (OUT) Examine the SB-10(b) and passbook. Verify the signature & balance & make entry in relevant records. Collect the passbook. After checking by APM & Supervisor Savings Bank Control Organization, Dispatch the advice of transfer to transferee HO by insured post. RULE NO : 51 POSB Manual Volume -I

  5. Counter Operation Savings Bank Account Transfer (OUT) Role Of APM Check the SB-10(b) & passbook with record and sign. Check the entry in record and sign. Transfer the document to Savings Bank Control Organization. On receipt of document from Savings Bank Control Organization , return the document to counter PA for further disposal. RULE NO : 51 POSB Manual Volume -I

  6. Customer Information Savings Bank Account Transfer (OUT) Fill up the SB-10(b) form & furnish all details properly. Handover SB-10(b) form & passbook to counter Postal Assistant. Collect the acknowledgement/receipt from counter Postal Assistant generated through Sanchaya Post software. RULE NO : 51 POSB Manual Volume -I

  7. Counter OperationSavings Bank Account Transfer (IN) Scrutiny of advice of transfer received. Make entry in relevant records. Transfer the documents to APM. On receipt duly authorized by APM, hand over passbook to depositor, and collect receipt from depositor. RULE NO : 51 POSB Manual Volume -I

  8. Counter Operation Savings Bank Account Transfer (IN) Role Of Assistant Postmaster Check the document and sign. Check the entry in records. Transfer the document to Savings Bank Control Organization branch. On receipt of the document from Savings Bank Control Organization, transfer the document to counter Postal Assistant for further disposal. RULE NO : 51 POSB Manual Volume -I

  9. Customer InformationSavings Bank Account Transfer (IN) Produce the receipt given by post office by transferee Post Office. Collect the passbook. No fee for transfer of account except Senior Citizens Saving Account. RULE NO : 51 POSB Manual Volume -I
