One historic Protestant view of Hell is expressed in the Westminster Confession (1646): "but the wicked, who know not God, and obey not the gospel of Jesus Christ, shall be cast into eternal torments, and punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power." (Chapter XXXIII, Of the Last Judgment) "The sight of hell's torments will exalt the happiness of the saints forever...Can the believing husband in heaven be happy with his unbelieving wife in Hell? Can the believing father in heaven be happy whit his unbelieving children in Hell? Can the loving wife be happy in heaven with her unbelieving husband in hell? It ell you, yea! Such will be their sense of justice that it will increase rather than decrease their bliss.“ Jonathan Edwards
Huh? About Eternity -Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with him is eternal life. Heaven and hell are places of eternal existence
Revelation 21:3I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
Revelation 22:1 Then the angel showed me a river with the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 It flowed down the center of the main street. On each side of the river grew a tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit,[a] with a fresh crop each month. The leaves were used for medicine to heal the nations.
Revelation 22:3 No longer will there be a curse upon anything. For the throne of God and of the Lamb will be there, and his servants will worship him.
